About ValueOS
Our Mission
ValueOS is the investment decision operating system โ a free platform that combines Warren Buffett's six decades of shareholder letter wisdom with real-time financial data to help you make better-informed, data-driven value investments.
We believe the best investment framework already exists: it's embedded in Buffett's 60 years of candid, instructive letters to shareholders. ValueOS extracts that wisdom, structures it, and pairs it with modern financial analysis tools โ so you can think like Buffett and decide with data.
How It Works
Learn
Build the mindset.
65+ years of Buffett's wisdom โ 97 shareholder letters, 25 core concepts, cross-referenced by his own words. Understand why before you analyze.
Analyze
See the signal in the noise.
Score, Moat, and DCF โ three tools on one framework. Screen for quality, price intrinsic value, and decide with data, not emotion.
Decide soon
Watch, then act.
Great companies are easy to find; the right price is rare. Track the ones you believe in โ ValueOS tells you the moment they reach your margin of safety.
Methodology
Letter Sources: All shareholder letter content is sourced from the official Berkshire Hathaway website. We extract and structure the text for optimal search and cross-referencing.
Financial Data: Stock fundamental data comes from the SEC EDGAR XBRL API โ the official, free source of all U.S. company filings. Current prices are sourced from Alpha Vantage. Both are updated periodically.
Valuation Engine:Our DCF calculator, Owner Earnings formula, and ValueOS Score are implemented from Buffett's described methodology โ not AI guesses. All calculations are transparent and auditable.
Accuracy: All letter quotes are verified against original sources. Financial data is pulled directly from SEC filings. Where data is unavailable, we display N/A rather than estimated values.
Freshness & review cadence: Letter text is curated once and version-controlled; financial figures and every DCF, Score, and Moat result are recomputed from the latest SEC filings and refreshed on a rolling basis, so a ranking or valuation reflects the most recent annual report available rather than a stale snapshot.
What we never do: we do not generate financial figures, prices, or letter text with AI, and we never gate core content behind a paywall. Every number on ValueOS is traceable to a primary source โ a Berkshire letter or an SEC filing. Our full editorial standards are published in the Editorial Policy & Methodology.

Editorial Standards
ValueOS is built and maintained by a small team of value-investing enthusiasts and software engineers. Our editorial principle is simple: every number you see is derived directly from primary sources โ Berkshire Hathaway's shareholder letters and the SEC EDGAR XBRL filings โ never from estimates or AI-generated figures.
